Low price in Juneau
In general you get what you pay for. Only $221 for two nights, pre-paid - very low by Juneau standards. - Big room with harbor view of commercial fishing fleet - comfy Bed - some guest noise issues late at night - Problems with room and service noted below. Location and surroundings: 15 - 20 minute walk from downtown. Semi-residential neighborhood. Service varied widely. Night clerk refuesed to give us drinking glasses, claimning they didn't come with room. She directed us to the bar. Same desk clerk lost our request for airport shuttle. Other clerks seemed fine. Manager said she was new and they would work with her. Room phone didn't work. Two different card keys to room failed after just a few uses. Free Airport shuttle was on-time. They sell frozen food and drinks out of pantry (with microwave) by the front desk which is very convenient. Dining: a high point. Terrific Korean food and good salads. Our friend who stayed there praised their burgers. Room: bedroom was spacious and clean, no-musty smell, with private balcony overlookng harbor. Bathroom clean except for tub which appeared to be unclean and had hair clogging the drain. Lacked adequate electrical outlets for charging, but that's typical of this vintage of motel We alway bring a surge-protector multi-plug and extension cord. Useful tips: Harbor-side rooms have balcony and view, but also noise from highway below. Don't accept a room until you have inspected it and bathroom for cleanliness.
